The Book Launch

The Adventures of an Introvert project was launched in December 2019. After months of struggling to find the time to write fourteen chapters, the release of my first book was an extremely satisfying moment. It may not be the greatest piece of literature in circulation but I am pleased with the final product. It gives me a nice feeling to be able to hold my own book and see it stood next to others on my bookshelf that have sparked my imagination over the years.

Considering that it was written on rickety trains during my gruelling daily commute, sales have exceeded expectations. It has sold well in excess of two hundred copies in the first five months, resulting in it topping one of the Amazon Kindle best sellers lists.

Charitable Projects

More importantly, it has allowed me to raise considerable sums of money for five different charities/non-profit organisations. I donate my share of the profit to a designated charity/non-profit organisation each month, whilst simultaneously shining a light on a worthy cause. Cancer Research UK, DKMS UK, the Australian RSPCA’s Bushfire Appeal, the National Autistic Society, and the Manchester Royal Children’s Hospital Charity have all benefited from your purchases.

May’s profit will be donated to Haydock Hedgehog Helpers, who attend to sick, injured and abandoned hedgehogs. They are currently raising funds to build a ‘hogspital,’ which will be able to accommodate at least forty one hedgehogs.

I welcome suggestions for non-profit organisations for future months, so feel free to send me a message or leave a comment.

Plans For The Future

I have started writing my second book, which will be released at some stage this year. I plan to regularly update this blog with a mixture of humorous tales from my travels, a selection of my favourite photographs, and more serious in-depth write-ups that have been inspired by the things that I have seen during my journeys across the globe. From a personal point of view, it has allowed me to document the story of my life up until this point. I once hid away from the world, now I obsess about seeing all that the planet has to offer. Hopefully, you enjoy reading about my misadventures as much as I have taken pleasure in exploring the places that I write about.
